General Enrique Mosconi International Airport (FAA: CRV - IATA: CRD - ICAO: SAVC), is an airport located in the Military-Airport District about 11 km north of the center of Comodoro Rivadavia, in the province of Chubut. Due to its great movement, it is considered a hub airport in the Patagonian region, being one of the most active. The airport acts as an Area Control Center (ACC) providing traffic control services for the southern air region (RASU), which has a center in Comodoro Rivadavia and that covers from the south of Viedma and Bariloche, including Antarctica. It is the main hub (or connection center) of the LADE airline. In addition, the IX Air Brigade is located here. It owes its name to Enrique Mosconi, who was an Argentine military man and civil engineer, known mainly for having been a pioneer in the organization of oil exploration and exploitation in Argentina, as well as the ideologue and first president of the state company Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales. The Army Aviation Section 9 of the Argentine Army is based at this airport.
