SOUTHOAKCO, in partnership with BARELLI MSFS ADDON, presents Foggia Airport, Italy.
Foggia Airport (IATA: FOG, ICAO: LIBF) is a civil airport located about 3 km from the city centre of Foggia.
The airport, named after Gino Lisa, has a heliport, used by the company Alidaunia for flights to the Gargano (Tremiti Islands, Peschici, San Giovanni Rotondo and Vieste) and the mountains of Daunia (Celenza Valfortore)
The old runway of the airport was 1560 m long and 45 m wide and is defined as category 3-C "instrumental" type, that is, with equipment suitable also for landings in poor visibility conditions. It was made of concrete and asphalt and had a resistance of grade PCN37. The new runway measures 2000 m, of these only 1795 m can be really used for landings, while the new connections for take-off can be exploited (150 m after the head 15 and 96 m after the head 33). Both heads have 3rd level PAPI and the only 33 head has SALS approach light system. It is allowed to fly at night from the head alone 33.
Thanks to track extension works up to 2000 m, the airport has expanded the range of aircraft that can operate on the runway. From 30 September 2022 Foggia airport has returned to have scheduled flights with Milan Malpensa and from 2 December 2022 with Turin operated with two aircraft, a Boeing 737-300 139 seats and a Boeing 737-700W 149 seats Economy of the Greek airline Lumiwings, announced together with those for Verona and Catania in a press conference in May 2022 by the President of the Puglia Region.
