Winston-Salem is a city located in the US state of North Carolina in Forsyth County. Salem was founded in 1766 while Winston was founded in 1849. The incorporation of the two locations occurred in 1913. Durham is a city located in the US state of North Carolina, in the counties of Durham, Orange and Wake. It was incorporated on April 10, 1869. Its name is a tribute to Bartlett S. Durham. Duke University is found there.
