Little Rock is the capital and most populous city in the US state of Arkansas. It is the county seat of Pulaski. It was founded on June 1, 1821 and incorporated as a village in 1831, and later as a city on November 2, 1835.

Located near the geographic center of the state of Arkansas, the name Little Rock derives from the name of a small rock that exists on the south bank of the Arkansas River.
