In Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, the Suez Canal works correctly, but the Panama Canal may display ships partially submerged in some areas. This happens because parts of the Panama Canal are located above sea level, and MSFS 2020 handles boats and water elevation differently from MSFS 2024. As a result, ships in Panama may remain at sea level instead of correctly following the canal water height.

Please also note that the OrbX Panama add-on has a bug that applies an ice effect to the canal water at the beginning and end of the canal, preventing wake effects from being visible in those areas. Throughout the rest of the canal, however, the wakes remain visible and add to the realism of the experience.
